IUPUI Meal Plan participants received a March 27 email from meals@iupui.edu outlining the actions the University is taking on meal plans. Students who purchased a spring 2020 board meal plan (All Access or 14 Meal Swipes Per Week Plan) will be credited for the days remaining in the semester. Students who purchased a fall 2019 or spring 2020 block meal plan (Jazzy, Jags, Jawz and Jinx Plan) will be credited any remaining meal swipes and dining dollars as of Wednesday, April 1 at 5:00 p.m.
All balances are being credited to a student's bursar account unless the student opted into the Meal Plan to CrimsonCash Conversion by Wednesday, April 1 at 5:00 p.m.
If the student preferred to have the meal plan credited back to their bursar account, no further action was required. Any student who did not fill out the Meal Plan to CrimsonCash Conversion Request automatically received the credit.
Any credits received as noted above are applied to any unpaid charges on the student’s bursar account, with any remaining credit applied to future charges such as Summer and/or Fall 2020 enrollment. If a student would like to request an immediate refund of any remaining credit, please complete the COVID-19 Refund Request form.

FAQ's
The meal plan semester charge, and subsequent credit, is determined by a daily rate and the number of days that Tower Dining is open for service in any given semester (called a board day). The credit was calculated by taking the daily rate (listed below) and multiplied by the # of board days remaining in the spring semester. There were a total of 111 board days in the spring semester and 48 board days were remaining. The 48 days consist of the original return date from spring break, Monday, March 23 through Saturday, May 9. Based on that information the total credit amount for your plan is:
All Access Meal Plan Credit = $881.76 (Daily Rate $18.37 x 48 days)
14 Meal Swipes Per Week Meal Plan Credit = $834.24 (Daily Rate $17.38 x 48 days)
You can have them follow the steps below….
Step 1: find the #of Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars remaining on your meal plan account. The student can confirm their balances at the CrimsonCard Card Management Website
Step 2: take the # of Meal Swipes remaining x Meal Swipe Value (refer to the table below) to get your Meal Swipe Balance
Step 3: take the Dining Dollar Balance + Meal Swipe Balance (from step 2) to get your Total Meal Plan Credit
Meal Plan Meal Swipe Value
Meal Plan
Meal Swipe Value
Jinx Plan
$7.20
Jawz Plan
$7.00
Jags Plan
$6.75
Jazzy Plan
$6.48
Refund Calculation Example Student has a Jawz Meal Plan with a current balance of 4 meal swipes and $235.00 dining dollars. 4 Meal Swipes x $7.00/Meal Swipe = $28.00 $235.00 Dining Dollars + $28.00 Meal Swipe Balance = $263.00 Total Meal Plan Credit
Student will receive a $263.00 meal plan credit (or converted to CrimsonCash in the case the CrimsonCash Conversion Request Form was submitted by 4/1/2020 at 5p.m.)
